Early Life, Education And Career

D’Prince was born 23rd of October 1986, to Collins Enebeli, a Business man and a musical production manager and the founder of the record label Sagitarious Productions and Patience Enebeli an international Business tycoon and he is the younger brother of music mogul and CEO of Mavin Records, Don Jazzy. Music has always been in this family and he is not strange to the Music business and D’Prince is also known as Omoba which is a Yoruba language which means a Child of a King.

He is originally from Umuahia in Abia State in the south eastern part of Nigeria. D’Prince attended King’s College in Lagos, Nigeria and obtained his West African Senior School Certificate. He started his music career professionally in 2005 after completing his secondary school education.

In 2005, D’Prince was asked to join the Mo’ Hits Records after his elder brother Don Jazzy came back from United Kingdom to promote the record label he founded alongside with D’Banj in Nigeria. Ever since he joined the Mo’ Hits Records in 2005 he has been behind the scenes working on his personal album “Frenzy” which was later released under the Mo’ Hit record label in 2012.

In 2007, Mo’ Hits Records released hits singles like “Booty Call, Close To You, Masquerade, Stop the Violence, Igbe Mi, Hey Girl, What You Want to Do to Me and Oh No” featuring D’Prince. On 25th November 2009, D’Prince released his hit single titled “Omoba” and it was relaunched in 2010. On 13th April 2010 the official Video of the song “Omoba” was released. Under the record label Mo’ Hits Records.

In 2012, D’Prince moved from Mo’ Hits Records to Mavin Records after the label name was changed by Don Jazzy due to the disassociation of D’Banj from the record label. That same year in 2012, D’Prince released his first studio album “Solar Pelux” with hits track like “Take Banana” and “Amarachi”.

D’Prince uses a fusion of Afrobeat and Afropop to bring his music to life in honor of his mentors. His songs are based on facts and life, with a deeper meaning which documents the struggle of a young Nigerian trying to achieve his dreams. He performs mostly in English, Igbo, Yoruba and Pidgin English.
