Things went south when Harvey claimed that Coach Knight had knocked him down without cause years after they had been classmates at Indiana University.
Coach Knight, who was 59 years old at the time, took Harvey by the arm and lowered him to show respect for Mr. Knight or Coach Knight. According to Harer and his family, Coach Knight went too far by complaining to the media. According to ESPN, since their fight, Kent and Harvey have been threatened over the phone and through email from Mark Shaw, his stepfather. Before feuding with Kent’s brothers, Coach Knight had trouble getting along with his supporters.
Murray Sperber, a professor of English at Indiana University since 2002, took a year off in 2000 because of death threats made against him in his hometown of Montreal. Knight was subjected to a “zero-tolerance” policy that prohibits physical contact with youngsters unless it’s unavoidable. Later, after firing the legendary Bob in September 2020, Indiana basketball fell apart.
Harvey is a customer support manager at Dealer Services Corporation in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Harvey said he forgot what Knight specifically told him. He did recall his tone of voice, though. He stated that during a meeting with a sports hero, he was blank, anxious, and flustered.
