Mbappe, De Bruyne, Salah: Which footballers form the most valuable XI in the world?

Fantasy football is one of the most popular games that can be played by football fans all around the planet as it gives them the ability to be able to go into a world that is not real and allows them to be as creative and as inventive as they wish with the teams that they can create.

Of course, there are a number of football teams around at the moment who have the resources and capabilities to do that already, with many of them becoming rather popular to place a wager on when betting live on football as they are teams that become incredibly hard to beat and generally end up competing for the very best titles the sport has to offer.

However, as a bit of fun, we thought it would be interesting to take a look at the most valuable XI in the world at the moment, with all of the data having been scraped from the internet.

In addition to ensuring the most valuable eleven players were selected, it was also important to ensure that each player selected was playing for a variety of different teams, thus helping to get into the spirit of playing a game akin to fantasy football.

Europe’s top five leagues represented but Ronaldo, Messi & Haaland omitted

When taking a look at the squad, it does not come as a shock to see each of the top five European leagues be represented, with players from the English Premier League being joined by players representing clubs in Spain’s La Liga, Germany’s Bundesliga, Italy’s Serie A and France’s Ligue 1.

Moreover, it perhaps does not come as a shock to see a number of names appear in the XI that has been selected. It is important to note now that Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi do not appear, largely because of their age, although Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain would be well within their rights to say that they are incredibly valuable to their efforts in silverware this season.

Another surprise omission is Borussia Dortmund’s superstar talent, Erling Haaland, although that is rather down to the formation that has been chosen for this team, with a 4-2-3-1 setup having been utilised.

Goalkeeper and Defence

As highlighted earlier, each of the top five European football leagues is represented and the defensive area of the most valuable XI features a player from each of them.

In between the sticks is goalkeeper Jan Oblak, who is believed to have a value of $77 million. That is not a surprise given that the Atletico Madrid ‘keeper has been touted to be one of the very best for a long while and has proven to fit that label with his performances.

The defence consists of Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold ($82.5m), PSG’s Marquinhos ($82.5m), Matthijs de Ligt of Juventus ($82.5m) and FC Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies ($77m).

Midfield

The midfield to have been selected in this 4-2-3-1 most valuable squad consists of a number of talented individuals, although there will be some questions at this stage of the season as some could be accused of not quite getting started just yet.

Munich has a second player in the XI (the only side to have more than one in the squad), with Joshua Kimmich ($99m) being partnered alongside FC Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong ($99m).

Fantasy football fans would love to have the attacking midfield trio in front of this duo, whilst many clubs would be incredibly envious of a team that are able to boast these individuals in their side.

Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho ($110m), Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne ($110m) and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah ($110m) complete the deadly trio with each of them more than capable of making a difference for their respective club in front of goal in the English Premier League.

Striker

Now, with players such as CR7, Messi and Haaland being revealed to have been omitted from this most valuable XI, there was only ever going to be one other man that could be handed the sole spot as the striker in this team, wasn’t there?

That award, obviously, goes to PSG’s Kylian Mbappe ($176m) as the 22-year-old continues to thrive in world football. He is known to be one of the next superstars of the game, which is why it does not come as a surprise to continue to hear that Real Madrid are keen on acquiring him.
