Manuel Neuer who started developing intense passion for football at two years of age, was born in 1986, on March 27th, in Gelsenkirchen, West Germany to his father and mother, Peter Neuer and Marita Neuer.

 

In 1988, young Neuer began showing great interest in football as he was always seen playing football with his brother Marcel Neuer. He was enrolled in Gesamtschule Berger Fled, to have his education, but in 1991, the German shot stopper was later moved to Shalke academy where he won the admiration and approval of his coaches who took special interest in him. As young as he was, Manuel Neuer was already surprising everyone with his out of this world goalkeeping skills.

 

In 2005, Shalke 04 gave him his first professional contract having impressed the management and coaches of the club. He soon went on to established himself as the club’s number one in between the sticks. In 2008,Manuel Neuer helped his club to progress to the next round of the UEFA Champions League after making eye catching saves during a penalty shoot out.
